Just been to M & S and love the ease of their prepared baked gammon (especially in a strange kitchen) – just slip it in the oven . . . some grilled pineapple and a salad (hope he has oil and vinegar!)

Absolutely delicious with Isma’s mother’s homemade fig jam made from the fallen figs she gathered from under the trees in her village in Spain – ‘waste not, want not!”

* * *B ut there was time to visit friend Hong Kong David Yeo’s new restaurant in The Shard, HuTong, for Dim Sum lunch. Delicious bites. And then for another friend, David, to walk us back across London Bridge to the City of London pointing out all the sights.
* * *A nd before leaving for the airport, I simply have to fit in my pilgrimage down to Pret A Manger on Knightsbridge for my regulation Langoustine and Rocket sandwich – best in the world!
