(But, not sure what Pope Francis would make of this opulence.)
At the press of a button on my bedside table, curtains roll back to reveal the view from just one of three rooms of my 40th floor eyrie at The Upper House on Hong Kong Island. And no smog to spoil the view this morning!
No International Herald Tribune on the door knob either, so I have to resort to catching the news on CNN (and that means reaching all the way over to the other side of the bed to get the TV remote). As I said, Tough!
Looking out from the bathroom, I can see up to the green mountainside of Mid-Levels to the apartment where I lived for four years thirty years ago.
Thank you Cher for such wonderful arrangements on this first stop of my holiday!
I’m sure the morning papers will be in the breakfast room on the 49th floor, after I shower with my Neroli and Grapefruit Zest Body Wash. Will I draw the blinds (another press of a button), or give any voyeur office dwellers a thrill?
