Welcome to the blog for our ‘2012 Camino and Chateau’ Experience!
These pages of the blog have been password protected for the exclusive viewing of our little group of a dozen ‘pilgrims’.
In the words of Pope Benedict XVI, ‘somewhat older and slimmer than he was in Sydney in 2008’, in his address to Australians attending the blessing and opening of Domus Australia in Rome recently: “the ancient practice of making pilgrimages is a reminder that the destination of all of us lies beyond this world – in the commonwealth of heaven”.
Connie wouldn’t have said it better!
But that isn’t necessarily what it’s all about for each one of us.
You will find the various sub-pages under the ‘Travel Writing’ tab at the top of the blog page. Hover over that and you will see the ‘drop-down menu’ for ‘Camino and Chateau’ leading you to a few sub-pages.Click on the area/s that interest you.
The most recent addition is the descriptive itinerary for the Camino portion in the north of Spain.

"On my first visit to Santiago de Compostela in 1993, I stopped short of buying a wooden staff with gourd and seashell attached, but I soon found myself amazed and wound-up in the religion, history, folklore, culture and architecture of this off the beaten track pilgrimage and tourist centre in the north-west of Spain – I can’t remember spending two more engrossing days in years."
