Five of us (with five different countries of origin – Australia, USA, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Cuba) on this ‘road-trip’ from Venice to Trento and Lake Como think this classic piece of Palladio architecture in Vicenza a pretty good backdrop for a group shot.
The entire main square provides the best ‘lesson’ on the Palladio style. This imposing white structure (next to the Basilica and built for the Mayor) best demonstrates Palladio’s classical style with arches of equal sizes flanked by spaces in rectangles diminishing as you move away from the centre.
