I can’t quite believe that I’m happily telling people that next year I’ll have reached the ripe old age of 70; still walking upright; and still have all my marbles.
It’s time to start thinking about where the celebrations might be held this time around. India for my 65th will be a hard act to follow. For 2012, Central Java is one thought; a chartered dahabiya up the Nile from Luxor to Asswan is another; but the idea gathering pace is old Burma and “The Road to Mandalay”.
The very mention of the idea has the Turners and Juanita putting their hands up to come with me the first week of March on an inspection trip to Burma (Myanmar). We depart on March 4th!
Hi Michael. John and I are contemplating doing the Road to Mandalay in November. So we’ll be very interested in what you have to say when you get back.
I’ll keep you informed. I also want to inspect RV Paukan, a smaller vessel.
