I take in ‘suburban’ backstreet activity in this 2,000 year-old setting; and somehow I end up by stumbling into the ancient square outside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, pulsing with pilgrims.
Feet hurting, and turning for home, I see the Jewish people in different modes of traditional dress quickly making their way to somewhere as the day of rest draws to a close.
