Restaurant owner Jamie’s SATAY PEANUT SAUCE also has a touch of heat with chilli added to the homemade peanut satay mixture sloshed all over tender morsels of beef and chicken skewered on sticks and cooked over the fire as we watch. I copy one of my friends and roll the meat and peanut sauce up in a freshly made roti and enjoy the best ‘Malaysian Satay sandwich’! Langmeil Bella Rouge Cabernet Rosé – it’s not too sweet, and washes down so well.

“Out here you can Touch the Silence”! The headline of the Ayers Rock Resort advertisement almost screams at me. Silence! So inviting as I sit here in Wilbur’s Place at lunchtime today attempting to ignore the bombardment of 90’s Pop that’s accosting my hearing.
Obviously the ‘noise’ is not intrusive enough to interfere with my sense of taste though. Chef Adam’s genuinely French CROQUE MADAME, complete with béchamel, melted cheddar, light-smoked leg ham, and a fried egg (with a crispy bottom that I like) holds me captive . . .. and it looks so good too . . . and the really good cheese and ham smell so good.
Imagine my ire when front of house Anthony eventually tells me that he turned up the music deliberately today to see how long it would take me to mention it. And to think I suffered through it!
My o My…what a fabulous word smith you are…
Love it

loud music or not did not interfere with your wonderful flow of words…great to see you yesterday and also listen to the beautiful sparkling music at st canices
Inessa, you ‘re wonderful! Thank you for the confidence you have in my writing . I simply get carried away with little things at times, and there is something in me that wants to share the thought, or the moment.
No, I don’t think I have enough time to think about writing a book.
Always well here.
Hello MIchael, I hope you’re well & enjoying this lovely fresh weather! Totally out of the blue I know, but I just wanted to ask whether you had every considered writing a novel…? You write so well and always have such depth of detail in your descriptions that Im drawn into your world (or lunch as per today’s post!) I’m struggling through a first draft of a book at the moment and whenever I read your posts i think – now there’s a clear confident style, I wonder there’s a book in him?
Anyway, I hope you are well. We are all braving the cold and school holidays have been fun. Am pretty glad they’re over on tuesday tho!! The boys run me ragged but they’re such good fun – and exploring the world with them is wonderful.
Love Inessa
xx
